An extra 20,000 thousand visitors in a year are forecast to head to the Tasman Peninsula for a newly launched tourism venture, the Pennicott Wilderness Journey’s Cape Raoul Cruise.
Rob Pennicott’s newest experience uses a $2.2 million catamaran the Port Arthur Explorer
William Flamsteed from the Port Arthur Historic Site expects it to become a major drawcard.
“The history that comes with Port Arthur to then have these fantastic nature based tourism experiences to compliment the great food and wine that we have around the Tasman Peninsula makes people stay longer and makes people spend more money.”
Rob Pennicott pays credit to the state government’s funding assistance for getting the experience off the ground.
“I wouldn’t be doing this for probably about another five years, if at all, so it brought all of that forward.”
