Got a Long Beard? You Could Star as a Wizard in the New Harry Potter TV Series!

When casting the next generation of wizards for the highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series, you’d expect talent that resembles the books’ beloved characters at the top of the list of requirements. But for the producers of this new adaptation, there’s another magical feature they’re keen on, beards.

And not just any beards. Think epic, waist-length ones that scream spellbinding wizard vibes!

According to The Sun, the production team is on the hunt for men with these impressive facial locks to join the wizarding world. Not only will successful candidates get to wield some serious magical vibes, but they’ll also enjoy “good rates of pay”, filming is kicking off later this year in London, so grab your comb and start growing!

An insider revealed, “The Harry Potter TV show is the most sought-after project for actors right now, so this is an incredible opportunity.”

And what a cast it’s shaping up to be! John Lithgow is stepping into the wise, commanding shoes of Professor Dumbledore, Janet McTeer will embody the no-nonsense Professor McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu is set to bring a fresh take to fan-favorite Snape.

HBO also confirmed that Nick Frost, from Hot Fuzz, will play the lovable Rubeus Hagrid, while Broadway actor Luke Thallon will transform into Professor Quirrell and Welsh actor Paul Whitehouse will take on the grumpy Hogwarts caretaker, Argus Filch.

The rumor mill is spinning with whispers that Academy Award-winner Cillian Murphy could portray Voldemort which would surely send chills down the spines of fans everywhere.

As for the new golden trio? A staggering 32,000 kids have auditioned to play Harry Potter, with casting teams reviewing up to 1,000 tapes daily and that’s just for Harry, Ron and Hermione casting is still in the works.

Set to run for over a decade, this HBO-produced series is expected to debut in 2026 and is already shaping up to be a magical journey for fans new and old.
